How to restart the Totalplay modem

To reset a TotalPlay modem there are two ways to do it. The first is to use the reset button located on the back with the word “Reset” printed on it. Depending on how long the button is held down, different functions can be activated; one to reset the TotalPlay password and the other to do a maintenance reset.

What happens when we press the "Reset" button?

  • If you press the reset button for 10 seconds, it will do a factory reset. This means that all previously made settings will be gone and replaced with the Totalplay security password found under the modem. This can be useful if you want to change your password and can't remember it.
  • All previously connected devices will no longer be able to connect until the default security password is entered.

Steps to reset Totalplay modem

  1. Find the Reset button located on your Totalplay modem, which is generally small in size.
  2. Hold down the Reset button without releasing it until the lights on the modem start blinking for about 10-15 seconds.reboot totalplay router

Other solutions to reset the modem

Rebooting your modem is a great way to fix problems like slow internet connection, routing errors, port issues, inter-computer issues, wireless network issues, and intermittent VoIP quality. To perform a factory reset, you need to locate the sticker on the bottom or side of the modem.

This contains the factory default settings, so if you changed any credentials and now you can't remember them, the reset will return everything to its original state.

When to use Reset Totalplay button?

The TotalPlay Modem Reset button can be used in the following situations:

  1. When you need to reset your modem to factory settings, such as after changing your Wi-Fi network password or making other major changes.
  2. When the modem is having trouble connecting to the Internet, either because it is not receiving a signal or because there is something wrong with the configuration.
  3. When the modem password has been forgotten and the settings cannot be accessed.

It is important to note that using the Reset button will lose all custom modem settings, so it is recommended to make a backup copy of the configuration before resetting the modem.
