  2. Sign in using the credentials provided on the router label or in the user manual.
  3. Within the panel, you can find advanced settings that you can customize according to your needs.

Change the SSID of the Wi-Fi network on the Linksys router

In case you want to modify the SSID of your WiFi network, you can do so through the administration panel. Use the previous instructions to access the panel and then adjust the SSID as necessary.

  1. To get started, access your router’s Control Panel. This process, as mentioned above, makes login easier.
  2. Once inside, go to the home page and select the “Wireless” option located in the left column.
  3. On the next page, look for the “Network Name (SSID)” section, where you can find your current SSID.
  4. Enter the new SSID desired in the corresponding field.
  5. Finally, click “Apply” to save the settings. After clicking “Apply”, the router will reboot automatically and the SSID will be updated upon reboot.

Change Wi-Fi password on the Linksys router

Making changes to the router password is an option through the control panel. Follow the following steps to carry out the modification: 

  1. To get started, log in to the Router Control Panel using the method mentioned above.
  2. Once inside, go to the home page and click on the Wireless option located in the left column.
  3. Make sure encryption is set to WPA2-PSK.
  4. Next, find the WPA Pre-Shared Key field. Here, enter your new WiFi password, which should be between 8 and 63 characters, including letters, numbers, and special symbols.
  5. After entering the new WiFi password, click Apply to save the changes.
  6. The router will reboot automatically. Once rebooted, connect to the WiFi network using the new password.
