By default, the Movistar router is configured so that anyone can connect to it and use it to browse the Internet. This can be a security issue, as anyone could use your Internet connection to do whatever they want. Fortunately, it is possible to change the settings of the router so that it can only be used with a password. Follow these steps to configure the Movistar router safely.
Enter modem movistar wifi 6
Connect the router to the computer using the Ethernet cable. Make sure the router is turned on.
- Open a web browser and type the router’s IP address in the address bar. By default, the Movistar router’s IP address or default gateway is 192.168.1.1. Press “Enter” to open the web interface of the router. If you use vodafone or another similar one, the correct router ip is 192.168.0.1
- Type the username and password in the corresponding fields. The default username and password are “admin”. Click “OK” to enter the router management interface.
- Click on the “Firewall” link in the navigation bar on the left side of the screen. A new screen will be displayed with the firewall settings.
- Click the “Enable” button next to the “Allow only VPN connections” option. This will configure the router so that it can only be used over a VPN connection. You can also configure the router so that it can only be used over an Ethernet connection, but this would mean that you would not be able to use it to surf the Internet if you are not at home.
- Click the “Save” button to save the new settings. From now on, you can only use the Movistar router if you connect to it through a VPN connection.
Configuring the Movistar router so that it can only be used through a VPN connection is an easy way to make sure that no one else can use your Internet connection. Follow these steps and you can browse safely knowing that no one else is using your connection.
